Last Sunday saw us welcome four of our young people into Communion. They have been undertaking some preparation sessions looking at the Eucharist Service and to understand the significance of the sacrament. On Sunday, in a service led by Revd Joachim, they received consecrated bread and wine for the first time.
Canon Law allows children to receive communion before confirmation if the PCC is in agreement and after preparation. Our hopes and prayers are that in a few years time these young people will be ready to be Confirmed by the Bishop and become full members of the Church of England. In the meantime we will continue to hold these young people along with all our children in prayer.
