Saturday evening saw over 90 people from Probus and surrounding villages enjoying an evening of musical entertainment that raised just under £1,500 towards the repair of the church roof.
The Sanctuary gardens were transformed with bunting, floral decorations and gazebos housing musicians, drinks and some delicious puddings. As people began to arrive chairs, tables and picnic rugs soon covered the lawns and the volume of chatter increased. A variety of welcome drinks were provided including the ever popular summer drink Pimms and half way through the evening some delicious puddings were served.
The musical entertainment was provided by Ian Tumulty from Probus, a popular local entertainer, who sang a selection of songs. The main act were the Four Thoughts Quartet who provided a mix of music
The raffle proved popular with a selection of prizes provided by local businesses and in itself raised over £250.
Our thanks go to Pam Dodd and Ann Staten for organising the whole evening, the army of volunteers that helped before, during and after the event, the musicians, those who donated money, food, drinks etc, the raffle prize donors and not forgetting Revd Joachim and his family for opening up their garden for us to use.
With further donations of over £1,500 (including gift aid) raised due to the publicity around this event the appeal to repair the church roof is on its way.
